Answers to common questions

Browse the questions below or use the search field to find a specific answer.

Account

Managing your AgeGap account

Select Join AgeGap and enter the requested account information. After registration, follow the link in your confirmation email to activate your account and complete your profile.

Check your spam or unwanted-mail folder first. Confirm that the email address you entered is correct and request a new confirmation email. Delivery can occasionally take several minutes.

Use the Forgot password? link on the sign-in page. Enter the email address connected to your account and follow the instructions sent to you.

Open your account settings and choose the option to delete your account. Carefully review the information shown before confirming, as account deletion may be permanent.
Profile

Creating and updating your profile

Visit your profile and select the edit icon beside the section you want to change. Save each section after updating your information.

Choose a recent, clear photo that shows your face and genuinely represents you. Avoid heavily edited images, group photos as your main image and photos containing private information.

Profiles and photos may be checked to help keep AgeGap authentic and safe. Content that does not meet the community or photo guidelines may be rejected or removed.
Messages & connections

Connecting with other members

Open the member’s profile and select the message button. Write a friendly, personal introduction and send it when you are ready.

A like lets someone know that their profile caught your attention. Adding a member to your favourites also makes it easy to revisit their profile later.

A conversation may no longer be available if the other member deleted their account, was removed from AgeGap or if one of you blocked the other.
Privacy

Your information and privacy

Other members can see the information and photos published on your dating profile. Sensitive account information such as your password and private email address is not displayed on your public profile.

Only share personal contact information when you feel comfortable and have developed enough trust. Never share passwords, verification codes, financial details or identity documents.
Safety & reporting

Staying safe on AgeGap

Open the member’s profile or conversation and select the block option. Blocking prevents further direct contact between you and that member.

Report behaviour involving harassment, threats, requests for money, suspected fraud, fake identities, inappropriate content or anything else that may place members at risk.

Meet in a public place, arrange your own transportation and tell someone you trust where you are going. Keep your phone available and leave whenever you feel uncomfortable.

Something does not feel right?

Trust your instincts. Block or report anyone who pressures you, asks for money, requests sensitive information or makes you feel unsafe.
